SIRE: PC’S I’LL MAKE YA’ FAMOUS TOO “ROCKY” Rocky is a dog with extremely high bird-drive, a fast and hard point and a very stylish tail set while on point. At home, he is everybody’s friend and a nice dog to have around the house.
Rocky was sired by FC Janee’s I’ll Make Ya’ Famous “Kid,” who we have used as a stud before and trained offspring at our kennel. Kid is an AKC Field Champion and NSTRA Champion, proving that an AKC All Age-running horseback dog can also compete and win in walking stakes at NSTRA. Kid is a truly versatile dog. Kid’s sire is NAFC FC AFC Maxwell’s Blew By you II. You will also notice NFC FC Beans Blaze in the pedigree.

DAM: KARAMOJO’S KICKED THE HORNETS NEST “LYLA” This female is out of a past August Rush/Blixen litter. Lyla has done very well for me and I was confident once I started working and hunting her that she would make a great addition to our breeding program. The primary female side to our breeding, dating back 13 years to Kenya, Stella, Rouge, Bella and Blixen, has been tried and true for producing Brittanys with hard points, great bird drive, and trainability. Lyla has a nice build. She is leggy and light and can really move through the mountains.

The pups will be located in Inkom, ID, ten minutes south of Pocatello, Idaho and 2 hours from Salt Lake City, Utah.

They were born on 10-27-2022 and will be ready for homes between December 15-22 for pick-up.

Here is a pair of former Cove Mountain Kennels pups in action in western Idaho this week. These pups were bought separately with a few years in between by the same client. Ellie had the original find, and Louie is honoring her.

Blue (Dusky) grouse are a neat bird. They hold well for points and taste delicious. Also, they are one of the few animals on Earth that gain elevation during the winter. In the dead of winter, when the deep snow falls, these things go to the tops of the mountain ranges and eak out a living in tall conifers.

(Smoke is now retired from breeding…but he is still around, hunting and hanging out.) Hideaway’s White Smoke is an AKC American Brittany currently standing at stud in Inkom, Idaho (south of Pocatello.) Smoke is an accomplished bird hunter and field trial dog. This is a special stud dog who had proved himself time and again in front of AKC field trial judges. He has 9 official AKC placements to his name and multiple points in both Open and Amateur divisions. Cove Mountain Kennels recently acquired this dog to add to our breeding and hunting program.

Smoke started doing well even when he was young. He was the 2013 Western All-Age Futurity 4^th place and continued to impress judges throughout his career as a competitor.

His was sired directly by NGDC FC/AFC San Dee Blazing Shane. His mother was FC/AFC Hideaway Red’s Bess Bet. However, most importantly, this dog not only has the genetics, but he has proven himself as a stellar competitor and hunter. The more recently in the line that the dogs have been proven through AKC field trial competition or hunt tests the better the chances of producing quality hunting or competition puppies. Anyone can say, “this dog is a great hunter and has good lines.” Few can back it up with actual competition placements.

DAM: KARAMOJO’S BELLATRIX LESTRANGE- Bella is a daughter of 3x Am Fld Ch 3x Ru GFC FC Stayley’s Orange Outlaw Mr. Cooper and Karamojo’s Dragon Tattoo JH (Stella). She has everything we look for in a quality hunting dog and producer: extreme bird drive, trainability, hard point, hard running/great pattern, among other traits. Bella is a product of our breeding program which is based on the above traits. We breed for hunting and competition and she fits the bill on both. And she is a sweetheart at home!

The brittany pups turn three weeks old tomorrow (8/21). They are growing well and have opened their eyes and are viewing the world. They are going from the slugging around stage to the walking stage and soon will be wrestling each other, which is fun to watch. Blixen, the mom, is doing a great job with the litter.

The vast majority of our pups are sold before they are born, but with this big litter, we happen to have some female picks left. Please read the litter announcement below this post for info on the dam and sire. This is the last breeding I will be able to have with Cooper due to AKC breeding regulations regarding age of sires. He is a Grand Field Champion, Field Champion and Amature Field Champion.
