Here is a picture of Drama resting on Spike’s back after a long day of hiking and hunting for lion tracks. None were found, but it was a great day on the mountain.

Hope and a Lion!
Here is a fun picture of a sub-adult lion that Drama and Spike treed. It treed near a road so I was able to get my 5 year-old daughter, Hope, to the tree. This lion was released unharmed to run another day.

Brittany Puppies Here- Sissy/Django – Taking Deposits
We have some beautiful pups from our Django/Sissy litter available. They were born December 3 and just had their tails docked and dew claws removed. We are taking deposits now. Call or text Nick at 314-954-5424 for more info or to send a deposit.
Karamojo’s Django Unleashed – Django was very trainable, has a lot of point and has been a pleasure to train and hunt. One of his biggest strengths is his ability to “turn it off” when not in the field. He is super chilled out off the field and all business when he is finding birds. Django is a son of FC Light ‘em Up Luke we purchased out of Colorado and couldn’t be more impressed. His pedigree is stacked with FC and DC.
Ortega’s Sissy Knows Birds: Sissy has an incredible bird drive and natural hard point. She gets it done in the field and loves people and attention off the field. She is a very natural hunter and her puppies start young and have her intense bird drive. Sissy has some of that tried and true Nolan’s Last Bullet blood and we have never gone wrong with those genetics.
Both dogs are natural retrievers, very trainable and excellent companion dogs. They should start very early. We would like to see these go to hunting or competition homes, but will consider a home with an active lifestyles.
These pups will be excellent hunters and companion dogs. They will be ready for homes 7-8 weeks from birth (January 20-27, 2016). We are located near Pocatello, ID.
Please call or text number above. We recently dealt with an email hacker and want to make sure we are doing business with a legitimate client.

Two Texts: Happy Client and Happy Vet
This top text is from a client who bought a Sissy puppy from us last spring. His dog, Snoop, a Brittany, has been doing great in the field.
The bottom text I got today from our vet, Dr. Steve Haymore from Alpine Animal Hospital in Pocatello. He does our adult dog work and puppy work as well. We choose to have veterinarians take care of our pup’s health needs such as removing dew claws and docking tails. We feel this is the safest option and that our pups are in good hands. The text tells a bit about how we care for our puppies before they go to clients.
We have a litter on the way. Call Nick at 314-954-5424 (or text) if you want to talk Brittany gun dogs. (If you call, follow up with a quick text…Ill be in spotty reception on a hunting trip for a week or so.)

Chukar Hunt with Django
Had a great chukar hunt with Django in Southeast Idaho. Django really zips up and down the hills effortlessly and does a nice job slamming on point on wild birds. Here is a picture of him after a nice retrieve waiting for me to take the bird from him.
We love chukar hunting. The challenge of the hills, the weather and a hard flying crafty bird make for a good hunt every time.
A wise man once said, “You hunt chukars once for fun, then its for revenge.” He is right. Chukar hunting is war.

Utah Muzzleloader Deer
I drew a decent Utah muzzleloader tag this year. I carried a Thompson Center .50 cal that I bought specifically for the trip because the tag took me 8 years to draw. Idaho does not allow a closed ignition system or 209 primers. Utah does. I got the rifle shooting pretty well and was glad i made the purchase. It was a torrential downpour for 85% of the hunt and somehow my powder stayed dry and the gun went “boom” when I needed it to. I looked at over 150 deer and at least 15 4x4s before taking this deer. General season in Idaho is not quite like that…at least for me.

Chukars, Chukars, Chukars!!
We love chukar hunting. Here is a picture of a GSP named Moses. Our kennel trained Moses four years ago and he has been stellar on wild birds since then. Here is him and his owner with a wild Idaho chukar.
