Here is another photo from a client with a very unique colored Brittany from the Stella/Clown cross. His name is Murphy. We love hearing about our pups!

We received this picture from a client who bought a puppy, Danner, earlier this summer. This puppy was from our Karamojo’s Dragon Tattoo JH (Stella)/Clown cross. Stella will be bred to Dave Walker’s “The Clown” sire later this week. Stay tuned for more puppies!

This is a bird dog site, however, I came across this dry rub for an elk or venison roast that was so good that I had to post it. We had it again for Sunday dinner tonight and it was fantastic. If you can find some wild chanterelles, morels or oyster mushrooms it’s all the better. I was lucky enough to have found two handfuls of chanterelles to add to the crockpot.
Directions: Mix the dry rub ingredients together, then rub it into all sides of the roast (3-5 lbs). Once coated completely, place in crock pot with the lid off on medium, or in a Dutch oven, with the lid off in the oven at 350 F. Roast for 1 hour. Then, add 1 1/2 cups beef broth, wild mushrooms, garlic cloves, carrots, potatoes or cabbage. Lower the heat (low or 300 F), cover and continue roasting for 3 hours. Use drippings to top elk roast as it is served, or to make gravy.

Dry Rub:
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp dry mustard
1 tbsp black pepper (or 2 tbsp white pepper, 1 tbsp cracked pepper)
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp sugar
1 bay leaf, crushed

Here is a pic from yesterday of Boomer the American Brittany. This Brit is out of one of my Kenya/Clown crosses. Currently, we are training five different pups out of my two Kenya/Clown crosses. They are doing very well and are very trainable. It is exciting to work with the dogs we bred. Can’t wait to see how well they turn out!

We have gotten some great photos lately of some of our latest litter of Brittany puppies in their new homes. We will try to post a few for you. Pictured here is Gus, now owned by Leah and Kevin down in Utah.

We have one male Brittany puppy still available. He is a nice pup with a middle-of-the-road temperament and some very cool facial markings. He is 7 1/2 weeks old and ready to go to his new home. At this point, 2 of the 9 puppies have been brought home with the rest going home this week or weekend.

The vet was surprised at how healthy these pups were when they got their tails docked and dew claws removed. All of them are getting very big and looking healthy. Here is a pic of them at 12-days-old. We are still taking deposits.
